Wildernis Looks

Art 2 : Sofia
I love shooting couples on Lord Howe Island, so when Brent got in touch asking for elopement ideas I was quick to suggest it as a location. It’s perfect for a couple looking for a beautiful & unique getaway, with stunning landscapes and lots of very cool wildlife you can get close to, which makes for some pretty special photo opportunities. It’s also a short (and fun) flight from mainland Australia, which makes it a pretty perfect micro wedding or elopement location. And for a wedding photographer it ticks every possible box…

Classic 2 : Filmic
Is a soft, timeless aesthetic rooted in classic film photography. It blends fine art with a natural, organic feel, enhancing light, depth, and emotion for a nostalgic yet elegant look. Gentle highlights and a warm, airy palette create a luminous quality, while natural light softens contrast. Subtle grain, rich yet muted tones, and delicate focus give it a refined character. Whites stay creamy rather than harsh, and lifted shadows add depth without feeling heavy. Warm, natural skin tones enhance beauty in an effortless, unprocessed way. With a balance of editorial refinement and candid storytelling, this style captures genuine moments with artistry and grace—perfect for romantic, documentary-style photography with a polished, high-end feel.

Lord Howe Island feels like a secret paradise — part tropical island, part rugged mountain escape. There are only a handful of cars, the beaches are untouched, and every corner looks like it’s been designed for a photoshoot. We wandered between banyan forests, quiet coves and clifftop lookouts, stopping every few steps because the light or the backdrop was too good to pass up. It also helps when the couple are as good-looking as these two!
